The ASCO solenoid valve functions by controlling the opening and closing of the valve through the on/off of the solenoid coil. This, in turn, controls the movement of the mechanical device. The working principle of ASCO solenoid valves is classified into three types: pilot operated, direct acting, and step-by-step direct acting.
When the pilot operated solenoid valve is energized, the electromagnetic coil creates an electromagnetic force that opens the pilot hole. This causes the pressure in the upper chamber to decrease, leading to a pressure difference that drives the closing member to open the valve. When power is disconnected, the electromagnetic force disappears, the pilot hole is closed by the spring, the closing member is pushed downward, and the valve is closed.
In the case of direct acting solenoid valves, when the valve is energized, the electromagnetic coil produces a magnetic force to raise the closing component and open the valve. When the power is cut off, the magnetic force ceases, and the closing element is pressed against the valve seat by the spring, causing the valve to close.
The step-by-step direct acting solenoid valve combines the working principles of direct acting and pilot operated. It uses electromagnetic force to open the valve with low pressure difference or without pressure difference. It uses pressure to propel the valve when there is a pressure difference. When power is cut off, it immediately shuts down.
ASCO solenoid valves are commonly employed in industrial control systems to regulate the direction, flow rate, velocity, and other parameters of the medium. This ensures precision and flexibility in control.
