ASCO has a range of Pilot/Air Operated Spool Valves that are designed to provide better environmental protection against hazardous areas. The ASCO series 551, 552, and 553 spool valves have an exhaust port that is connectable to provide superior protection. These spool valves are incredibly versatile and can be used in many different applications.
The design of these spool valves makes them particularly recommended for sensitive areas such as cleanrooms, pharmaceutical facilities, and food processing plants. These industries require a high level of cleanliness, and the ASCO spool valves can help ensure that this requirement is met.
The solenoid valves in the ASCO series 551, 552, and 553 are designed to meet all relevant EC Directives, making them safe and compliant with all necessary regulations. This means you can be confident in the safety and performance of these valves for your application.

The monostable spool valves comply with the IEC 61508 Standard, 2010 route2H version, and have been certified by TÜV (551 series) and EXIDA (551-553 series) with integrity levels of SIL 2 for HFT = 0 and SIL 3 for HFT = 1.
The spool valves come equipped with threaded port connections and a "NAMUR" style interface.
The same spool valve can accommodate 3/2 NC or 5/2 functions for controlling double-acting and single-acting actuators.
All the exhaust ports of the spool valve are connectable, providing better environmental protection, particularly recommended for sensitive areas such as clean rooms and applications in the pharmaceutical and food processing sectors.
The valves are constructed to offer environmental protection against the ingress of liquids, dusts, and other foreign matter.
Epoxy moulded coil for general service applications.
The solenoid valves meet all relevant EU Directives.
The ASCO Solenoid Valve is suitable for various temperature ranges from -25°C to +60°C. It can operate with differential pressure ranging from 2-10,4 Bar. It is compatible with fluids such as air, inert gas, and filtered liquids. The core tube of the valve is made of brass, which ensures durability and longevity. The seal materials used in the valve are NBR (nitrile) + PUR (polyurethane), which ensures that the valve is resistant to pressure and does not leak.
The ASCO Solenoid Valve is ideal for applications that require a single solenoid valve, such as controlling the flow of liquids and gases in pipelines. It is widely used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries. The valve can be used in various scenarios, such as controlling the flow of air in pneumatic systems, controlling the flow of water in irrigation systems, and controlling the flow of gas in heating systems.
