The Hydro-Electric Pressure Switch type HED 8 is a piston type pressure switch. It has a housing, an installation kit with piston, compression spring, adjustment element, and micro switch. When the pressure to be monitored is below the set pressure, the micro switch is operated. The pressure to be monitored is applied via the nozzle at the piston, while the piston is supported by the spring plate and acts against the continuously adjustable force of the compression spring.
The spring plate transmits the movement of the piston onto the micro switch and releases the latter when the set pressure is reached. Consequently, the electric circuit is switched on or off, depending on the circuit set-up. Also, the mechanical positive stop of the spring plate serves two purposes: it protects the micro switch in cases of sudden pressure drop from damage, and it prevents solid compression of the compression spring when there is overpressure.
Notice: In order to increase its service life, the pressure switch should be mounted with low vibrations and should be protected from hydraulic pressure surges.
This product is ideal for subplate mounting and pipeline installation. It is designed to work as a vertical stacking element in connection with sandwich plates according to ISO 4401. It is deployable in accordance with ISO 16873 in terms of flange connection. There are 5 pressure ratings to choose from and 4 adjustment types:
An electrical connection is available with large cubic connector and M12 x 1 connector. It also features a micro switch with NC/NO contact function and potential-free switching of currents from 1 mA to 2 A. Finally, the device also has UL approval for pressure ranges up to 350 bar.
