Primary Seal – TS-2000 Rod Seal is designed to be leakproof, completely self-compensating and self-relieving even with variations and mechanical deflection.
The "Jewel" Rod Gland Assembly is an external design, which requires no disassembly of the cylinder before removal.The long bearing surface is placed inboard of the seals,lubricating from within the cylinder. Also an o-ring, which serves as a seal and a prevailing torque-type lock, is used.
Double-Service Wiperseal™ is used as the secondary seal.It has the ability to wipe clean any oil film adhering to the rod on extend strokes and clean the rod on return strokes.
Piston Rod Stud, which is furnished with 2.000" diameter rods and smaller when standard style #4 rod end threads are required, has rolled threads from high strength steel. Also an anaerobic adhesive is used to permanently lock the stud to the piston rod.
The medium carbon steel piston rods are induction casehardened, hard chrome-plated and polished to 10 RMS finish. These rods are made with a 85,000 to 100,000 psi minimum yield material in .625" through 4.000" diameters, while larger diameters vary between 57,000 and 90,000 psi minimum material, depending on the rod diameter.
SAE “O” ring ports are the standard ports. Optional NPTF ports are available at no extra charge. While, oversize NPTF and SAE ports are available at extra charge.
Adjustable Floating Stepped Cushions are optional and can be supplied at head end, cap end, or both ends without change in envelope or mounting dimensions. Highly economical and flexible for even the most demanding applications, these cushions provides superior performance in reducing shock.
Finally, the one-piece nodular iron piston has a wide surface, contacting with the cylinder bore, which reduces bearing loads. Anaerobic adhesive is used to permanently lock and seal the piston to the rod.
