The Double-Service Wiperseal wipes clean all oil film on the rod's extend stroke and cleans the rod on the return stroke, acting as a secondary seal. A piston rod stud is furnished on 2.000” diameter rods and smaller when standard style #4 rod end threads are necessary and is made from high strength steel; anaerobic adhesive is used to permanently attach the stud to the piston rod. Piston rods come in .625” through 4.000” diameters and are made from 85,000 to 100,000 psi min. yield steel; larger diameters vary between 57,000 to 90,000 psi, depending on the product’s rod diameter.
Ports are available in standard SAE “O” ring versions, and optional NPTF ports require no extra charge; however, oversize NPTF and SAE ports are offered at an extra fee. Additionally, adjustable floating stepped cushions are available as optional items and deliver superior performance in reducing shock when used in demanding applications – all while not affecting the envelope or mounting dimensions.
The one-piece nodular iron piston is designed with a wide piston surface that contacts the cylinder bore and reduces bearing loads. As with the piston rod, anaerobic adhesive is used to permanently attach the piston to the rod.
